Year 8/9 Girls Don’t Like Cricket – They Love It!
On Monday February 15th, Port Lincoln High School’s Year 8/9 girls’ cricket team competed against Navigator College at Ravendale. We played two 20/20 matches and although we didn’t come away with a win, the girls played with great spirit throughout and had an enjoyable day.
Our team was well led by Captain Jessica Woolford, who kept wicket and bowled strongly. There was some great batting from Lilly Durdin, Hannah Moseby and Holly Gurney, and well done to Holly Phillis, Shadya Kerley and Ellie Makuch who all had a go at wicket-keeping for the first time. Macie Claughton and Jemimah Branford bowled well, whilst Ella and Rahni Wiseman were both exceptional in the field and provided plenty of support to their team mates.
Well done to all the girls involved.
~ Mrs Caitlin Wellfare (Team Coach)
