“Submerged” Senior Exhibition Officially Open
“Submerged”, our Year 12 Art+Design+Photography exhibition for 2026, was officially opened last evening at Jump Ship Brewing. In true crew spirit, a highly supportive crowd of proud families, PLHS staff and Governing Councillors joined the relieved exhibiting students to view this year’s stunning collection of practical work and accompanying practitioner’s statements.
The diverse display again features a wide variety of artistic styles and media, including painting, drawing, installation, photography, graphic design, architecture and fashion. The theme, title and promotional artwork for this year’s event were conceived and executed by Year 12 Design student, Sophie Cheriton; she explains her thinking here:
“Submerged represents the different ideas and perspectives explored through art, photography and design. It prompts viewers to look deeper into each work and discover what lies beneath the surface.”
We congratulate our “Class of 2026” crew on their outstanding achievements in their respective Visual Arts subjects and urge the PLHS and wider community to check out “Submerged” – the exhibition remains on display until Wednesday November 25th at Jump Ship (during their regular business hours).
~ Mr. Shaun Thomas (Design/Photography) & Ms. Wanda Jarvis (Art)
