Tough Competition at Annual SAASTA Shield
Last week saw eighteen Year 10/11/12 Port Lincoln SAASTA students compete in their annual SAASTA Shield event, supervised by Miss Jasmine Woldt, Mr Hayden Bennett and Mr Malcolm Miller. The focus sports for this year’s competition were badminton and soccer, with one day allocated for each over the two-day event. Prior to this, Badminton SA and Aboriginal Football Academy both came to run preparatory sessions for our students.
Port Lincoln were placed a close third in badminton (by 2 points), though did not place in the top three for soccer. Despite this, Lincoln showed great sportsmanship and did our Academy proud. Special mentions go to Ashur Miller-Pickett and Charlie Clements who were recognised as stand out soccer players for the competition.
Well done to all involved.
~ Miss Jasmine Woldt (SAASTA Coordinator)
