Students Complete 8-day Operation Flinders Trek
Back in Week 3 of this term, ten Aboriginal girls from Years 8, 9 and 11 participated in the gruelling eight-day Operation Flinders exercise. Our students were accompanied by PLHS teacher Miss Tayla Helbig and Jayde Warren from West Coast Youth & Community Support.
Operation Flinders exists to transform the lives of young people through quality remote outback adventure programs. The program is held in the northern Flinders Ranges where young people trek up to 100km, experience abseiling, Indigenous culture, bushcraft and build self-confidence through challenging themselves.
The girls participated in a high ropes course, slept under the stars and even completed a night walk.
