Colour Run Info for PLHS Parents & Students

Dear PLHS Parent/Caregivers,
Please be advised that this Friday (November 17th), from 2pm until our normal dismissal time of 3:10pm, your child will be involved in Port Lincoln High School’s annual Colour Run. The Colour Run (or walk) acknowledges National PE Week across Australia, as well as celebrating the end of another big year.
The Colour Run involves students completing a set course around the school and oval surrounds, in which colour stations will be set up for them to pass through. Each station will vary in colour, allowing the students to collect as much colour as possible on themselves! The colour powder has been purchased from Holi Colour Powder and is advertised as non-toxic, non-flammable, skin-safe, environmentally friendly and biodegradable. If you would like more information, please visit their website at https://holicolourpowder.com.au/.
The powdered colour is promoted as being wash friendly; however, just in case, we encourage students to wear an old t-shirt or something they won’t mind getting a little messy in (preferably something white for the full colour effect!). Further washing instructions can be found on the website listed above.
We encourage all to attend and participate; please ensure your child is wearing appropriate footwear for a run/walk. We also encourage students to bring a hat and water bottle with them (sunscreen will be provided).
Students will participate in the Colour Run from 2pm for twenty minutes or so; they will then celebrate further with games and activities on the Oval run by the PE Faculty, before being dismissed at the normal time.
Please don’t hesitate to call the school with any questions or queries.
~ Miss Yasmin Stewart (Senior Leader: HPE, Food & Nutrition, Sport & Integrated Learning)
