Book Week Celebrated at PLHS

Book Week – the best week of the year! This year we celebrated the theme of ‘Read, Grow, Inspire’ with a range of activities and promotions for our students.
Flowers and lollipops were a real highlight with students getting a free lollipop for lending and reading, and an extra for returning any overdues. A book swap has been running all week with staff and students bringing in their pre-loved books to swap for another – this will continue to run over the next couple of weeks to provide time for these books to find another home; please encourage your student to check them out and take one home.
Book of the Year (for older readers) was announced earlier in the week to coincide with Australia School Library Day – this year’s winner was “Neverlanders”, a graphic novel by Tom Taylor and Joh Sommariva.
Thanks to everyone for getting involved and celebrating this lifelong skill.
~ Ms. Glenda George (Teacher Librarian)
