Year 9/10 Crew Attends Active Citizenship Convention

A PLHS crew of seven Year 10s and seven Year 9s recently attended the South Australian Active Citizenship Convention, held at the Adelaide Oval on Wednesday August 26^th. This event provided our students with a unique opportunity to join peers from across the state to explore what it means to be informed, active and engaged citizens.

Throughout the day, students participated in interactive workshops, panel discussions, debates and hands-on activities led by political leaders, community organisations and civic experts. The convention encouraged students to deepen their understanding of Australia’s democratic system, strengthen their critical thinking and communication skills, and share their perspectives on issues that matter to young people.

A special highlight of the day was the opportunity for Lucas and Neve to work with South Australian hip-hop group DEM MOB to help co-write a song and then perform it on stage to the audience.

The convention was a valuable experience that empowered our students to develop their leadership skills, represent their school and recognise the important role they can play in creating positive change in our community.
