Year 12 PE Crew Competes at Mixed Netball Carnival

Open Mixed Netball Carnival 1

On Wednesday, ten students from our Stage 2 Health & Physical Education class competed in the annual Open Mixed Netball Carnival at Navigator College.

This carnival serves as the culminating event for the Stage 2 Physical Education external assessment, where students undertake an improvement journey by coaching one another in various aspects of netball, including tactical awareness, technical skills, fitness and motivational coaching.

Throughout the day, our team competed against St. Joseph’s School, Navigator College and Ceduna Area School. While the results did not fall our way, our students remained competitive in every match, played some high-quality netball, and represented PLHS with great pride and sportsmanship.

Our students will now use gameplay footage from the carnival to analyse their performance and complete the final assessment component of their Year 12 Physical Education studies.

A major highlight of the day was the arrival of our Bloom Leadership mentor Natalie von Bertouch, former captain of the Australian Diamonds and the Adelaide Thunderbirds. Nat generously gave her time to observe the carnival, speak with students, and offer her support, which was greatly appreciated and gave our crew a real boost.

We thank Nat for her ongoing support of our school and for the encouragement she continues to provide to our students.
