A whole school assembly was staged in the Gym earlier today to recognise the Term 1 efforts of around one hundred PLHS students. We were again delighted to have many of their parents and caregivers join us for the awards ceremony, and at the celebratory luncheon which followed in the Staff Room.
Today’s assembly was well compered by School Captain Max Stanley, who flew solo today in the absence of his unwell counterpart, Airlie Hartwich – get well soon, Airlie. The proceedings commenced with a Welcome to Country warmly delivered by sister and brother, Skyla and Jackson Long. They were followed by Mr. Craig Akehurst, who provided a Principal’s Address which outlined how our Crew culture continues to develop and positively impact our school.
Year Level Support staff across all six year levels then announced the names of all those who had earned Academic Excellence Awards (based on outstanding grades on their Term 1 report cards) and/or Crew Awards (for consistently demonstrating our three school values – Responsible, Respectful & Inclusive), with Channel Leaders and Dharna Crew Leaders presenting certificates of achievement to the worthy recipients.
Congratulations to all of today’s award-winners and many thanks again to the parent/caregivers who supported our event.
