Exploring Futures: Students Inspired at Career Roadshow
On Tuesday June 2nd, our Year 9 students – along with seven selected senior students – attended the 2026 Port Lincoln Career Roadshow held at the Port Lincoln Racecourse. The event provided an invaluable opportunity for students to engage with representatives from over eighty different career industries. Each industry showcased an immersive activity, allowing students to build a deeper understanding of the diverse pathways available to them beyond their schooling.
An absolute highlight of the day included a private meet and greet with Katherine Bennell-Pegg, Australian astronaut and current Australian of the Year. Katherine shared her inspiring journey and spoke passionately about the importance of pursuing your ambitions. She spoke strongly about working towards your goals and not letting barriers get in the way of your dreams.
The event was a tremendous success, with students leaving motivated and more informed about the many possibilities that await them post-school. A large thank you to the facilitating staff who supported me in providing this important opportunity to our students.
