Crew Receives Operation Flinders Certificates

Operation Flinders Presentation 1

Back in June, a crew of nine PLHS students – accompanied by Mr. CJ Dodd and Mr. David Kenny – travelled to the Flinders Ranges to undertake the gruelling Operation Flinders program.

The boys spent eight days sleeping under the stars, cooking by fire, accessing zero technology and bushwalking up to 100km. They stepped up to the challenge and were duly awarded their participation certificates yesterday at a presentation ceremony in the Aboriginal Education Room. Also in attendance were proud parents, Nick Atkin from the Operation Flinders organisation, and Ms. Robyn Rowsell representing sponsors the Rotary Club of Port Lincoln and the City of Port Lincoln.

We congratulate the boys on this wonderful achievement; a special mention goes to Year 9 student Lachlan Eades, who was awarded the prestigious Scott Hartmann Award by Operation Flinders for his outstanding leadership throughout the walk.
