Colourful Footy Fun to Finish Term 3

Ahead of today’s AFL Grand Final, our traditional Footy Colours Day again provided a fun finish to Term 3 yesterday; the festivities at PLHS included a sporting-themed casual clothes day, a longest kick competition and the undisputed highlight of the day, the annual Staff versus Students football match on the main oval.

Winners of the keenly contested recess time longest kick comp were:

• Year 11/12 Channel: Matilda Packer & Stirling Carter
• Year 9/10 Channel: Angus Rodda & Lucy Hatzimanolis
• Year 7/8 Channel: Estelle Dunn & Angas Stoakes

As usual, the prestigious staff vs. student matchup was very well organised and facilitated, played in wonderful spirit by all participants, and concluded with the correct result – another victory (4.3 to 0.4) to the mighty staff team (possibly assisted by the fact that the staff both umpire and score the game).

Congratulations went to the day’s two Best-on-Ground Medal recipients (pictured) – Isaac Sampson for the students and Ms. Jemma Joiner for the staff.

Following the game and presentations, all students and staff assembled across the Oval in their respective Dharna Crews for a final circle up discussion – each Crew shared their highlight for Term 3 and nominated something they were looking forward to in the school holidays. It was a fitting way to wrap up another wonderful term at PLHS.
