During the recent Transition program, one group of Year 7 students enjoyed the opportunity to take part in a science lesson looking at the “Elephant Toothpaste” reaction (hydrogen peroxide and yeast). These students had a great time making a mess and playing around with the fountain of foam produced from the reaction.
We then went outside and looked at the effect of concentration on the volume of foam produced from the reaction. Here the students were amazed by the amount of foam produced; it was a great way to cap off the lesson.
