The inaugural Come & Try VET days were held earlier this week across five Port Lincoln sites, including our three secondary schools, TAFE SA and the MFS headquarters. This opportunity allowed Year 10 students to experience the wide array of VET (vocational education & training) offerings that Port Lincoln has to offer as part of their future study options.
The Come & Try sessions included courses in Agriculture, Aquaculture, Automotive, Business, Christian Ministries & Theology, Doorways 2 Construction, Early Childhood Education & Care, Emergency Services, Engineering Pathways, Fitness, Hair & Make-up, Health Services, IT/Media and Kitchen Operations.
Three of the certificates (Aquaculture, Doorways 2 Construction and Kitchen Operations) were hosted at PLHS – sincere thanks to Mr Chris McGown (Aqua) and Mr Angus Martin (D2C) for successfully delivering sessions across the two days; thanks also to the Year 10 Personal Learning Plan teachers for their support of the program, and to Mr John Costin for driving the bus between venues.
