Last week, we reported on a series of highly successful artist workshops with acclaimed local artist Tim Coote – earlier today, Tim returned to his old Art Room at PLHS to deliver an engaging workshop to a select group of our current senior Visual Art students.
Over the course of two and a half hours, Tim generously shared his knowledge and expertise of oil painting. Discussion topics ranged from the equipment, tools and chemistry of oil painting, to thought processes and technical skills – the concepts of light and form were common themes throughout. The session also included practical demonstrations, culminating in the participating students being given an opportunity to work with this challenging artistic medium.
Once again, we offer our sincere thanks to Tim for his willingness to work with our Visual Art staff and students. We have certainly appreciated the opportunity to learn from such a talented artist (and ex-student to boot!).
