Late last year, the Australian Government’s Department of Education and Training engaged Education Services Australia (ESA) to produce a series of video case studies. The brief was to highlight good practice examples of quality vocational learning and career education programs for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander secondary students.

With a focus on features that underpin participants’ successful transition to meaningful post-secondary destinations, Port Lincoln High School’s Aboriginal Fisheries Program was selected.

We were recently advised that the completed case studies have been launched by the Hon. Karen Andrews MP, Assistant Minister for Vocational Education and Skills, and are now publicly available on the Department’s Preparing Secondary Students for Work website at:

Congratulations to the students and staff who participated in this wonderful initiative.
