From Indonesia Via Sydney: Bu Ayendha Visits PLHS

This week, our school was fortunate to receive a visit from Ayendha Kukuh Pangseti, an Indonesian student who is currently studying for her Masters in Sustainability at the University Sydney. Financed by a Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade Australia Awards Scholarship, Bu Ayendha spent a few days with our students sharing her language and culture.

My Year 7 and Year 9 Indonesian language students spent a day cooking nasi goreng and klepon (traditional glutenous rice cakes); it all tasted amazing and was consumed with gusto!

Some lucky Year 7 Art students designed some batik-inspired tote bag decorations using paint and stencils; they were all very excited to take their bag home.

Our students really enjoyed their time practising their Bahasa language with Bu Ayendha and learning about Indonesian culture; they were sad to see her leave.

“Terima kasih Bu, sampai jumpa lagi!”
