Young Artists Win Port Lincoln Art Prizes

Last night, the 2019 Bendigo Bank Port Lincoln Art Prize was officially opened with an awards ceremony at the Nautilus Arts Centre. We are delighted to announce that four PLHS Visual Art students received youth awards.

Congratulations to Deklan Males, (who won the Rotary Club of Port Lincoln Youth Award for his work entitled “Family Mob”), Kynan Hirschausen (Port Lincoln Arts Council Highly Commended Youth Award for “Port Lincoln Shark Egg”), Sharneil Roderick-Varcoe (Youth Special Merit Award for “Strength”) and Corey Watson (Youth Special Merit Award for “Sea Lion Decline”).

Visual Art staff Ms Wanda Jarvis, Ms Jenny Silver and Mrs Annette Kelson – who were on hand to accept the prizes at last night’s function – must also be congratulated for their ongoing support of our young artists.

The 2019 Port Lincoln Art Prize exhibition runs through to Saturday February 16th in the Nautilus Arts Centre.
