During their six-week rotation throughout the year, my Year 8 Visual Art students have learnt about the elements of art (including colour) and acrylic painting techniques. These concepts have then been applied to a landscape or seascape acrylic canvas, based on an image of a memorable place or a scene of significance.
There have been some visually stunning results as each student approached the task with individuality; they provided unique reasons for their scene choice through a short Practitioner’s Statement.
The paintings depicted here are from the last rotation group in Term 4; we hope that some of the artworks produced during the year are now adorning walls at home.
