Earlier this week, our Year 11 students attended an important and highly engaging Road Awareness Program (RAP) education session in the Dem Lab. Entitled “Looking After Our Mates”, the informative, thought-provoking and often confronting seminar is an initiative of the Metropolitan Fire Service.
Our facilitator, MFS Officer Mr. David Quan, was supported in his excellent presentation by road crash survivor Mr. Yudhi Mohan-Ram, who bravely shared his harrowing experiences with the audience. One of the scenarios also involved several of our students – well done to Fletcher Beard, Barry McArthur, Lucas Retallick and Cameron Sellen for “volunteering” for the roles.
The engagement levels demonstrated by the vast majority of our students throughout the lengthy presentation were outstanding – we trust that you will continue your excellent conduct whenever you get behind the wheel. We offer our sincere thanks to Dave and Yudhi for their valuable time and wise words.
PLHS hopes that this worthy annual program continues to improve the driving behaviours and outcomes of our students.
