Workabout Centre to Commence at PLHS

The Workabout Centre program connects Aboriginal secondary students with education and employment pathways which can lead to school-based traineeships, apprenticeships and post school support. Last month, Minister for Education Mr John Gardner MP announced that the scheme would expand into Port Lincoln.

The Port Lincoln Workabout Centre, to be managed by Ms Jolene Miller, will initially focus on Port Lincoln High School students before branching out throughout the Eyre and Western district. The centre will connect young Aboriginal people with pathways to sustainable employment and provide access to mentoring, counselling and support from secondary school into post-school pathways.
