PLHS is delighted to welcome another international student to our school community for Term 1, 2018. Emily Neelen (pictured here with some of her many new friends) is a Year 10 student from Cologne, Germany.
Having overcome the shock of leaving her near freezing home town and arriving in Australia at the height of summer, “Emmi” has settled in wonderfully well.
She describes everything here in Australia – the city of Port Lincoln, her host family, her home, her new school and subjects, the food etc. – as “great”. The highlights of her two weeks in Port Lincoln thus far have been seeing kangaroos and koalas up close, eating Pavlova and Tim Tams and taking a helicopter ride at Tunarama. Emmi describes the absolute best thing about her stay however, as the friendly people she has met.
We look forward to seeing more of Emmi’s smiling face around the school and wider community over the next few months.
