Two Envelopes for PLHS Inside Lions Time Capsule

In front of a large crowd in the Port Lincoln Library yesterday, the Port Lincoln Lions Club opened a time capsule that was interred in front of what is now Bedford at Ravendale Oval in July, 1978. Inside the fiberglass box were dozens of envelopes addressed to a host of local individuals, families, businesses and community groups, including two for Port Lincoln High School.

As pictured here, both envelopes were addressed to the future (2025) PLHS Principal – one was from class 9.7 (teacher M. Gauchi), the other from class 10.3 (with a signature that appears to read N. Collinson). Both have been duly presented to our current Principal, Mr. Craig Akehurst. They will be given to our current 9.7 and 10.3 Dharna Crews to carefully open – we will provide images and a summary of their contents in due course.

Congratulations and thank you to the Port Lincoln Lions Club for delivering this wonderful 50-year initiative – if it can be arranged again, our school looks forward to participating in the next time capsule.
