Students Consider Future of PLHS Campus

Earlier today, members of our Student Representative Council were invited to participate in a consultation session with the architecture firm appointed to manage our $15M redevelopment. They were joined by students from the Port Lincoln Primary School and the Poonindie Community Learning Centre.

The interactive session was facilitated by Mr John Held, Director at Russell & Yelland Architects and Mr David Sadler, Senior Associate at Oxigen landscape architects. The students embraced the opportunity to consider what the future of the Port Lincoln High School campus might look like in terms of the buildings, facilities and exterior spaces – each of the five groups were able to articulate some thoughtful observations and innovative ideas.

All participants engaged enthusiastically with each activity and interacted positively with their group members, including those from other schools. The session concluded with a tour of the PLHS campus tour for our visiting students and architects.

Congratulations to all of the students in attendance today for their contribution to the consultation process. We thank John and David for their time and eagerly await the first set of redevelopment drawings.
