A number of our 2021 Student Representative Council members attended the GRIP* Student Leadership Conference at UniSA’s Whyalla campus on Friday March 19th.
* GRIP stands for Generosity, Responsibility, Integrity and People
Students participated in a range of activities-based workshops throughout the day whilst collaborating and networking with students from other high schools across the EP. Sessions focussed on leadership skills and strategies, creating meaningful events, improving school engagement and activities, responsible and motivational leadership, and much more!
Some comments from the students include:
“Being involved in SRC and the conference has made me realise that I want to give back to the school and make my last year meaningful and positive”
“I gained more knowledge on how to be a school leader – by listening to others…”
“It was great to meet student leaders from other schools and share ideas about what they were doing”
“The trip helped to build connections and friendships between our PLHS peers”
“The conference gave us tools to improve our school community”
“Sharing our issues with other schools and helping each other find solutions”
Congratulations to our participating students on their positive engagement and attitude throughout the conference.
