“Spinifex” Display Launches Gallery Space

Earlier this afternoon, a new gallery space dedicated to local Aboriginal artists was officially launched at the Nautilus Arts Centre. The Year 8 students from Port Lincoln High School’s Aboriginal Art Program were invited to produce the inaugural display.

The collection – entitled “Spinifex” – was opened by teacher Ms Wanda Jarvis in front of invited guests, local media, parents, staff and the participating student artists. Aside from the stunning artwork on display (several of which sold within minutes), attendees also enjoyed a delicious lunch provided by our Food & Hospitality classes.

Congratulations to all involved in today’s launch and the ongoing success of the PLHS Aboriginal Art Program.

We encourage all community members to view “Spinifex” in the coming days – after the next cruise ship comes in on Friday, there may not be too many pieces left to see!
