Thirty-four students from the PLHS Transition & Learning Centre are engaging in their SACE (Flexible Learning and Transition Plans) through various VET (Vocational Education and Training) industry courses and potential career pathways.
New for 2022 is the Certificate III Screen & Media – Game Art Foundations course. This year, eleven TLC students are engaging in this exciting new full-year course through the AIE (Academy of Interactive Entertainment), which will also contribute to their SACE.
These students will learn the entire game art development pipeline, starting from planning and concept art, modelling and texturing and finally animation, bringing their work to life. This team will also form part of a film and event management crew, developing their skills through live major school and community events, including the organisation of an eSports event later in the year.
Concurrently, Carey Training have been delivering a six-week Certificate II Construction Pathways course (five days per week) to thirteen of our TLC students.
This crew have been working with Adam (Stu) Platt to develop their general skills and knowledge required to work in the construction industry. These students hope to use this experience to assist them in gaining future employment or an apprenticeship while still in school.
Magnificent work, champs!
