Port Lincoln High School wishes to publicly thank Robarra Broodstock Sanctuary and Hatchery for their generous support of our Aquaculture program. Robarra recently donated 1,500 barramundi fingerlings to our school, worth in excess of $1,000.
Under the watchful eye of PLHS Aquaculture teacher Mr Chris McGown, these 90mm long fish will be looked after throughout the year by the students in our Year 11 Aquaculture class. Once they reach the appropriate size and weight, they will be harvested and processed by the students, before being sold to local seafood suppliers and restaurants.
The ongoing success of this program is reliant upon positive partnerships with the aquaculture industry – we thank Robarra once again for their wonderful contribution.
