PLHS Students/Staff Invited to Muroto Celebration

Earlier today, four PLHS students and staff members received invitations to a special event next month, to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Port Lincoln’s Friendship Agreement with the Japanese city of Muroto.

Receiving one of a limited number of unique circular invitations were (pictured above L-R) Japanese teacher Mrs Tanya Booker, Year 12 students Tarli Absalom and Ursula Clarke and International Education Manager Mr Shaun Thomas.

The four were chosen by the Port Lincoln Muroto Friendship Group for their contribution to the exchange program – the students as former delegates and hosts, the adults as former delegates and hosts and current organising committee members.

Since the early 90’s, Port Lincoln High School has maintained a strong relationship with Muroto, with a sister school agreement between PLHS and Muroto High School currently being developed.

The celebration will be held in the Council Chambers on Saturday March 27th (the exact 30th anniversary of original Friendship Agreement signing), and will feature a Zoom link with a simultaneous event in Muroto.

“Omedetō” (congratulations) to our four invitees.
