Port Lincoln High School was delighted to receive a visit yesterday from Mr Garry Downey, Deputy Chairperson of the Eyre Peninsula Community Foundation. Garry presented a generous quantity of $50 Back to School vouchers to PLHS Principal, Mr Todd George – these will be distributed to relevant PLHS families to purchase essential school items such as uniform, shoes, bags and stationery.
Delivered nationally, the Back to School Program has been operating since 2005. In partnership with the Eyre Peninsula Community Foundation, the Foundation for Rural & Regional Renewal is pleased to be able to offer the program in 2019.
Through the provision of $50 vouchers, the objectives of the Back to School Program are:
- to improve access to education through the enabling the purchase of items required to attend and engage in school
- to help meet basic needs that assist children to reach their full potential, fit in with their peers, provide a helping hand and show that someone cares
- to build connections and community through local schools and Eyre Peninsula Community Foundation.
The EPCF would love to know how these vouchers have assisted our school community. Feedback (which can be anonymous) can help to attract further support. They can be emailed at: admin@epcf.com.au
