Dear Parents and Caregivers,
The Material and Services Charge is established each year in consultation with your elected parent representatives who form the Port Lincoln High School Governing Council. The charge covers many of the costs associated with your child’s education during the school year.
The Materials and Services Charge along with Government funding provides for a comprehensive curriculum and the many programs and experiences that students achieve through their secondary education.
The charges relate to the materials which are provided for each student and their access to information technology, machinery and equipment for their studies as well as curriculum supplies and services.
The school continues to grow its curriculum capacity for student learning and budgets a significant sum of money to ensure that all students have access to quality teaching and a comprehensive and modern education.
A recommended annual charge of $400.00 per enrolled full time Year’s 7 to 12 student for 2023 has been approved by the Department for Education, Government of South Australia. This will include a Government allocation of $355.00 for those who apply for and are eligible for a School Card supplement.
Information detailing how and when to make payment of the Materials and Services Charge will be published prior to the start of next year.
The school provides payment options to help families meet these obligations and will happily assist those who wish to apply for School Card. It is important to apply for School Card as soon as possible to avoid delays in approvals.
You are invited to attend the next Governing Council meeting being held at the Marina Hotel on Wednesday 30th November at 6.30pm.
Please RSVP your intention to attend this meeting by 4:00pm Wednesday 23rd November by calling Rachael Boyce at the school on 8683-6000. In lieu of attendance at the meeting, parents/caregivers can express their views in writing to the Chairperson of the Governing Council prior to the meeting.

Brian Gabb (PLHS Governing Council Chairperson)
