PLHS Girls Compete at Crows Cup

On Wednesday September 18th, PLHS sent two teams to Centenary Oval to compete in the Crows Cup, an annual 9-a-side girls’ football carnival. The event was also attended by Cleve Area School, Cummins Area School, Navigator College, St. Joseph’s School and Tumby Bay Area School.

Players and officials from the Adelaide Crows AFLW team coordinated the day and much fun was had by all. PLHS1, comprised of Year 9 girls, demonstrated excellent teamwork throughout the day and competed valiantly against much older opponents. PLHS2 consisted of girls from Years 10, 11 and 12; they displayed fantastic skill and suffered only one loss for the day (to the overall winners from Navigator College).

Congratulations to all participants for showing great skill and sportsmanship throughout the carnival. Many thanks also to Mr. Simon Bates for sharing his AFL expertise and coaching PLHS2.
