Content:

In Creative Arts Dance, students undertake a specialised study within or across one or more arts disciplines. They actively research, explore, develop and present two creative arts products that are presented at the dance production. The products may take the form of, for example, choreographic work for stage or film, compose a song for dance, design and create a costume, design posters, backdrops or lighting for the dance production. Students explore and develop different knowledge, skills, and understanding within each dance focused product.

Students analyse and evaluate creative arts products in different contexts and from various perspectives, and gain an understanding and appreciation of the ways in which creative arts contribute to and shape the intellectual, social, and cultural life of individuals and communities.

Creative Arts Dance prepares students for participation in the 21st century by equipping them with transferrable skills, including critical and creative thinking skills, and intercultural understanding. Creative Arts develops individuals who are reflective thinkers, enabling them to refine their thinking and technical and expressive skills to communicate and give expression to social, cultural, and personal experience. Students learn to pose and solve problems, and work independently and collaboratively.
