Stage 1 Aquaculture involves developing skills to work in the aquaculture and seafood industry. The course uses a hands-on approach to engage students, with assessment focusing on practical skills.
The Aquaculture facility places students in a work environment where they can increase their understanding of the importance of teamwork and responsibility. Students will develop skills in growing, processing and marketing a product.
This course may be chosen in conjunction with the FIP subject Industry Skills – Maritime (Integrated Learning) if students wish to focus on this area as a career pathway. However please note – only one certificate may be chosen.
Students choosing the Certificate II in Aquaculture must choose this Workplace Practices for a full year.
Assessment:
Student performance will be determined according to the subject’s Performance Standards as described in the Subject Outline. Grades A to E will be used for reporting purposes.
