Content:
Stage 1 Drama (Semester 2) consists of three areas of study:
Students apply the dramatic process to develop their individual and collaborative contributions to a small group performance.
Students develop their learning and skills throughout their process and performance in one or more roles, e.g., actor, designer, etc. Each student presents evidence of their learning and development, demonstrating their analysis and reflection of their process, choices and outcome through their presentation. (Assessment Type 1)
Students create a written or oral reflection which links their learning from one or more drama events they have experienced, with their own learning in a role(s). Students analyse and reflect on the ideas, techniques, skills, choices, and artistic impact of the event on its audience and the student’s own development as an artist. (Assessment Type 2)
Students apply the dramatic process to a published dramatic text/works of an innovator studied in class, or self-devised piece to create a concept or vision for a hypothetical (or actual) dramatic product. In the creation of their product, students also apply technology imaginatively and innovatively, and take creative risks. (Assessment Type 3)
Assessment:
Students’ performance will be determined according to the subject’s Performance Standards as outlined in the Subject Outline. Grades A to E will be used for reporting purposes.
