Earlier tonight, a large number of Year 8 families attended a Parent Information Evening on the Stamford Floor – more chairs had to be quickly located in order to seat the sizeable crowd.
Following Acting Principal Mr Todd George’s welcoming address, Middle School Assistant Principal Mrs Amy O’Brien outlined a range of pertinent Middle School issues, including a demonstration of SEQTA Engage, the school’s online parent portal.
Other staff to speak briefly about key areas of the school included Mrs Casie Richardson (Assessment/Reporting), Mr Craig Akehurst (Bridge Unit) and Mr Shaun Thomas (School Promotions). The Year 8 teaching staff then introduced themselves, before the parents were invited to meet and chat with their child’s teachers.
To conclude the evening, Amy conducted a tour of the school for parents who were unfamiliar with the campus and/or eager to see their child’s classrooms firsthand.
