In a week from now, we will welcome hundreds of families and community members to our first Open Night for 2026. The gates and doors will be opened wide, with PLHS students and staff stationed in learning spaces across the campus, ready to welcome guests and showcase our learning programs to you.
Last week, we published an extensive list of opportunities and experiences that visitors will be able to enjoy on the night (that list is repeated below) – we are pleased to announce a host of extra options that will also be available:
- meet last year’s Regional Debating Competition crew and watch their grand final tussle on the big screen
- a range of activities in BRIDGE, including a photography scavenger hunt, drumbeat, yoga and the singing bowl, songs on the ukulele/guitar and board games/challenges (such as Hyperdash)
- meet Brooke Scott, leader of our reading intervention program “Elevate” and hear how the program operates
- hear students from Rooms 21, 22 and 23 talking through their learning environment and this term’s learning experiences/outcomes
- tour our Wellbeing space on the Eyre Floor, including stops at the new-look Student Services, The Hub, headspace and School TV; meet the Wellbeing Team, including School Mental Health Practitioner Megan Puckridge
- meet the Year 7 Crew, view their learning spaces and receive an information handout provided for Year 7 families
- plus, meet staff and tour facilities at our Transition & Learning Centre (TLC) campus at 30 Edinburgh Street – the coffee machine will be on!
As mentioned last week, the following will also be available:
