Year 10 SAASTA Class Run Successful Morning Tea
On Friday June 14th, our Year 10 SAASTA students conducted a morning tea for PLHS staff and members of our Port Lincoln community. With a focus on reconciliation and the theme of “Now More Than Ever” in mind, students were tasked with the organisation, preparation and delivery of the morning tea, alternating opportunities to speak in front of their guests.
Tate Shillabeer and Jaxon Miller began proceedings with an Acknowledgement of Country before a fine welcome from Ava Miller and Jayana Walsh captivated their audience. A Principal’s address from Mr. Craig Akehurst officially launched the function as stories were shared and conversation filled the room. A thankyou speech full of gratitude presented by Levi Miller and Sharlisha Roderick-Varcoe concluded a fine event.
Our SAASTA students should be extremely proud of the way they conducted themselves, both in preparation for, and during the morning tea. They carried themselves to a high standard and received many compliments for their hard work. Their ability to work collaboratively to bring this event together was a real highlight and demonstrates a very bright future for them all.
~ Mr. Hayden Bennett (SAASTA Teacher)
