Susie Shares Archaeoastronomy Knowledge with Year 7 Crew
Across Term 2, the students in our Year 7 crew have immersed themselves in a unit of work on Reconciliation & First Nations Knowledge. Part of this learning involved a fascinating examination of the connections between Earth, Moon and Sun.
We were recently fortunate to have Wirangu, Kokatha and Mirning woman Susie Betts come in and share her expertise in archaeoastronomy. Through this experience, we learned the importance of the sky to the Wirangu (sky) people and the stories of the Seven Sisters songline all around the world, and how as above, so is below.
Susie’s passion and connection to the knowledge of the stars and sky truly left an impression on our Year 7 learners – we thank her for her time.
