Success for PLHS at European Handball Carnival

What an incredible day at Cummins for the European Handball carnival! On Wednesday August 5^th, Port Lincoln High School proudly fielded two Year 7 teams to compete against other Eyre Peninsula schools. Throughout the spirited competition, our PLHS Crew demonstrated outstanding sportsmanship, fair play and teamwork; to top it off, our girls’ team brought home the win and claimed the pennant!

The girls went undefeated during the carnival, recording four wins and a draw to book a place in the grand final; there we took on Cummins AS, who we had drawn with earlier in the day. In the GF, our girls overcame an early Cummins lead to come back and narrowly win the game 11-10. Meanwhile, our boys finished second in their pool with a win, a draw and a loss – this then resulted in a final for third place overall, which we unfortunately lost.

A big thank you goes to three amazing Year 8 students – Esix Curtis, Angas Stoakes and Harry Rowley – who umpired our teams; your leadership and support were invaluable to the day’s success.
