Happy International Pi (π) Day (3/14)
Today is March the 14th (3/14), which celebrates the mathematical constant π (Pi)!
Pi (π) is the ratio of a circle’s circumference to its diameter, and it’s approximately 3.14159… it goes on forever without repeating!
Some fun facts about Pi (π):
- Pi is an irrational number, meaning it never ends or repeats
- Pi has been calculated to over 50 trillion digits; only 39 digits are needed for NASA-level precision
- Albert Einstein was born on Pi Day (March 14, 1879)
- The world record for memorizing Pi is over 70,000 digits
