Adelaide Uni Students Talk Health Courses
Earlier today, tertiary students from the Adelaide University Rural Health Alliance (AURHA) visited PLHS and spoke to a range of our Year 9-11 students who are interested in a career in the health sector.
The eight AURHA representatives discussed degree courses such as nursing, dentistry, psychology, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, oral health, medicine and speech pathology. They also presented information about application processes, relevant prerequisites, what the professions and studies actually entail, university life and accommodation options. This was then followed up by activities relevant to the degrees, along with time to chat to and ask questions of the presenters.
It was fantastic to have current university students from rural backgrounds present and share their experiences to ensure our students are able to make informed career and pathway decisions in the future.
