PLHS has recently welcomed two more international students to our school community. Pictured here, Lisa Ferroni (left) from Italy and Audrey Cash (right) from the United States have both commenced in Year 11 this week.
Lisa comes to us from Ancona, on the stunning Adriatic coast in central Italy. She enjoys watching films in her spare time. Her favourite things about Port Lincoln are the sea and the school (in particular her favourite subject of Psychology). Although she misses her family and boyfriend, Lisa describes her host family as “sweet and comfortable”. She is looking forward to seeing more of the Port Lincoln area during her stay, particularly our native wildlife such as kangaroos and koalas.
Audrey is from Jefferson, Maryland, near the east coast of the USA. She lists her hobbies as writing poetry, photography, playing field hockey, cheerleading and sleeping. The three cats at the home of her host family “heal her of missing her dog”. Audrey has commented favourably on the friendliness of the people she has met thus far, and loves our beaches and Aussie accent. At school, she is impressed with the hands-on nature of her subjects and enjoys the long lunch break. During her stay, Audrey is hoping to dive with sharks and swim with sea-lions.
We thank both girls for choosing Port Lincoln High School and hope they continue to enjoy their educational experience with us.
