Yesterday, PLHS hosted a “Generation of Change” anti-racism workshop for students and staff, conducted by Reconciliation SA and ActNow Theatre Company.
The informative and thought-provoking workshop was attended by dozens of our Year 8-12 students – they were joined by several PLHS staff members and invited Year 7 students from Port Lincoln Primary School. Via a range of interactive educational activities, participants were able to identify racism, apply strategies to intervene, and support peers who are affected by it.

Our two Principal Student Leaders participated in the workshop and offered the following thoughts:
“Tuesday’s workshop was very helpful to recognise racism and deal with and de-escelate a situation with a racist person.”
~ Ned Moxey (PLHS Principal Student Leader)
“I found that learning and listening to people’s experiences with facing racism extremely insightful. This knowledge provided invaluable skills on how to intervene and prevent racism if it were to happen in front of me.”
~ Ursula Clarke (PLHS Principal Student Leader)
