“COLLECTIVE” Effort Delivers Incredible Results

Please enjoy this gallery of 210 images from last night’s public performance of “COLLECTIVE”, Port Lincoln High School’s Dance Production for 2023.

Once again, the large crowd inside the Nautilus Theatre were treated to an incredible collection of dances, brilliantly delivered by Director Miss Hanna Minchin and her highly talented ensemble of Year 12, 11, 10, 9 and staff dancers. The captivating choreography was arranged by Hanna, a number of Stage 2, Year 10 and 9 students, and guest choreographers, Simeona Rawles and Miss Odette Pearson.

This year’s extra special (centenary) show featured some wonderful innovations. These included the option of an interactive digital program for patrons, cleverly created by Year 12 student Ella Thomson and accessible via a QR code (or link below). The show’s promotional poster/tickets were produced by another Year 12 student, Jordan Ridgway.

The largest (and loudest) addition to this year’s show however, was undoubtedly the inclusion of several numbers performed by our Concert Band, expertly led by Mr. Scott McConnell and Mr. Colin Campbell. The audience loved the big brass sound delivered by the talented young members of our Instrumental Music program – special shout out to the Port Lincoln Primary School students who joined in for several pieces.

Congratulations to all involved in this spectacular 28-item performance – it was an amazing public advertisement of what our students and staff are capable of, and a wonderful celebration of PLHS in our 100th year.

* We now turn our attention to the Centenary Showcase on Friday September 29th (7pm/Nautilus Theatre/$30) – this special gala concert to celebrate 100 years of educational service to the Port Lincoln community will feature more performances by our current Dance, Drama & Music students, with Art & Design displays also available for viewing and an interval with finger food provided by PLHS Food & Hospitality. Go to https://www.nautilusartscentre.com.au/plhs-centenary for tickets.
