Across Weeks 4~6, Mr. Tyson Collins’ Year 10 Outdoor Education classes participated in an overnight bushwalk through the Lincoln National Park.
Shouldering packs for the first time in the course, the students hiked over 20km on Day 1 across sand dunes, around the Sleaford Mere and along the beaches of Sleaford Bay. In the evening, Trangia cooking skills were on display, with students producing tacos, tuna mornay, pasta aplenty and even a Filipino pork adobo. Once dinner was finished, time was spent around the campfire or further exploring the dunes by headtorch before bed.
Day 2 involved a further 15km of hiking, found to be much easier being predominantly along the Investigator Trail and with lightened packs.
